When Steve Glenn was young, he wanted to be an architect. Somehow, he got into technology, formed his own company and eventually sold it to Apple. Then, he decided it was time to pursue something closer to his original ambition, and founded LivingHomes, a Southern California-based provider of modern, pre-fabricated green homes.
Glenn has worked with some of the world’s best architects, including Ray Kappe and Kieran Timberlake, to create a plethora of energy efficient homes that are constructed off-site and shipped to the house site and assembled.
Glenn recently addressed the Commonwealth Club of California, the nation’s oldest and largest public affairs forum, about the benefits of green housing. His in-depth, 60-minute presentation included topics like factory production, LEED for homes, plug-in hybrid cars, homeowner education, tax benefits and more. The video is conveniently broken in chapters to allow viewers to move specifically to their section of interest.
