June 3, 2011 – Enertech Manufacturing, LLC, debuted its latest geothermal product innovation, the GeoComfort® Compass® Series CT combination unit. Based on the same award-winning design as the company's Compass Series vertical packaged models, the new combination unit utilizes a unique multi-positional cabinet that is field convertible to upflow/downflow, with right or left return. The unit is available in sizes from two to six tons (2 ton coming soon) and features improved heating and cooling efficiencies, versus the previous model - 4.8 COP and 27.9 EER on 3-ton model, part load. In fact, all Compass Series CT combination models meet the stringent Energy Star Tier 3 requirements that will take effect on January 1, 2012.
A GeoComfort combination unit is one of the most versatile geothermal heat pumps available. It has the flexibility to provide forced air heating, forced air cooling, domestic hot water, plus hot water for radiant floor heat. Radiant floor heat is accomplished by the units internal brazed-plate heat exchanger. Heat is transferred from this heat exchanger to water which then runs through tubing in the floor to produce radiant heat and warm floors. Its compact size allows for easier access to other internal components, reduces overall unit weight and still allows for downflow conversion.
In addition to the all new one-piece electric heater, the unit also boasts a variety of other installer and servicer benefits, including eye level controls and convenient service access panels. An anti-microbial plastic drain pan with condensate overflow sensors and e-coated air coil are standard features on this unit that protect against corrosion and extend the life of the unit.
Other design features like quadruple compressor isolation, foamed-in source coaxial heat exchanger and insulated airtight access panels help reduce vibration and airflow noise, making this one of the quietest combination units available today. Homeowners will also appreciate the appliance-grade cabinet styling, with rounded corners and attractive champagne paint color.
Enertech's CT Combination unit is the geothermal industry's first multi-positional combination unit. Best-in-class design, performance and efficiencies are hallmarks of GeoComfort Compass Series products. Production on the innovative new combination unit begins this month and orders are being accepted now. The product line will be manufactured at Enertech's state of the art facility in Mitchell, SD.
