The GeoComfort® brand of geothermal heating, cooling and hot water systems added coverage for a limited lifetime compressor warranty, effective July 1, 2011.
This new optional warranty is available to homeowners as a specialized extended warranty. The lifetime compressor option may be added to either the standard warranty or the extended warranty, at the homeowner's discretion, provided it is purchased during the first 90 days after invoice. Additional coverage with this option allows a one-time compressor replacement after the expiration of either the standard or extended warranty.
GeoComfort's standard warranty for its geothermal heating and cooling systems covers five years parts and labor and ten years for the compressor. An available GeoComfort extended warranty additionally covers parts, labor and the compressor for ten years. The decision to introduce the added warranty came as a result of discussion with GeoComfort dealers requesting such a warranty at the brand's annual dealer meeting, which took place in April of this year. The company attributes one of its competitive advantages as being more nimble than larger companies, enabling a more responsive relationship. According to Dan Jackson, Vice President of Operations, "The addition of the lifetime compressor option is a testament to our deep commitment to our customers, as well as our excellent product quality. The real value of the lifetime compressor warranty is providing the homeowner with absolute peace of mind."
GeoComfort geothermal dealers began offering the limited lifetime compressor warranty as an option in July.
