The Vision House green home exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort is now open. The concept of the house is to present green living ideas in a fun and informative manner to empower visitors with the knowledge that a sustainable future is possible. The exhibit showcases a wide spectrum of environmentally appropriate products and options and provide homeowners with real solutions for contemporary green living.
Schott's eco-friendly Ceran glass-ceramic cooktop was selected to be part of the house by Green Builder Media, which collaborated with Walt Disney Imagineering to create the Vision House.
Schott Ceran was chosen to be part of this green project because of the environmental friendliness of the product. This past summer, Schott Ceran was awarded a UL Environmental validation that certifies the product is manufactured without the use of arsenic or antimony — two products commonly found in glass making factories. Schott is the first glass manufacturer to eliminate the need for either metal in glass-ceramic manufacturing, which eliminates 180 TONS of arsenic and antimony per year.
In addition to its green features, Schott Ceran has a smooth, non-porous surface that is easy to clean, and its sleek, modern design complements any kitchen. It's also extremely 
durable, which means it won't require much maintenance or need for replacement, and thanks to its efficient heat transmission and low thermal expansion it is the perfect material for an even cooking experience.
"Sustainable living is about taking personal responsibility," said Green Builder Media CEO Sara Gutterman, in a press release. "Through the Vision House in Innoventions, we will illustrate that we can all provide our families with necessities like sustenance, and shelter, as well as comfort and convenience, while simultaneously preserving and protecting the environment."
As guests take a guided tour of the house, they will explore the major themes of green building, such as whole-home automation; energy generation and efficiency; water conservation; indoor environment quality; and high-performance materials and durability. Along the way, they will encounter intelligent products and advanced technologies:
