A new link on the Marshall Municipal Utilities website in Missouri could help you reduce the size of your bill rather than the size of your pocketbook."MPUA has a home energy program that allows customers to go out and analyze the energy efficiency of their house," said MMU Administrative Services Manager Ken Gieringer, in the Marshall Democrat-News.
MMU added the program online so customers could have a better understanding of the energy they use daily. In addition to determining heating and air conditioning usage, the program also allows customers to compare appliance models and sizes for long-term savings.
The Home Energy Suite link can be accessed by visiting www.mmumo.net. The program has extensive applications such as a lighting calculator, the fundamentals of electricity and Kid's Korner, in addition to the home energy audit.
"It does give you a pretty good idea ... if you want to change your thermostat ... it'll tell you how much your energy usage (could) change."
The applications are available at no charge and can be accessed at any time.
