On October 31, 2013 The EarthCraft Institute awarded its 2013 EarthCraft House Project of the Year award to the Proud Green Home at Serenbe, and its builder the Imery Group. EarthCraft Technical Advisor Chris Laumer-Giddens was also recognized by the institute. His group, LG Squared, were also the home’s architects and HVAC designers.
The EarthCraft Institute specifically highlighted the home’s -2 Home Efficiency Rating System score, that it produced 11 kilowatts of PV, solar thermal and that it has a platinum rating from the institute, with the most points in the program’s history, 342.
The home was also rewarded for its other achievements including its “net positive” energy consumption, its Department of Energy home certification, its Energy Star, Version 3.0 certification, and its EPA Indoor airPLUS and WaterSense certifications.
Laumer-Giddens posted this on his Facebook page: “It was an exciting project with one of the great builders we’ll find anywhere, Luis Imery.”
