Choosing the perfect tile

I'm moving into a new house in a few weeks, and I'm busy getting it ready. Choosing tile is one of the toughest things. It's more permanent than paint or carpet, or at least tougher to remove and replace, so it makes me a bit more cautious.
Luckily, American Olean sent a few tips on how to choose the right tile. I love these tips so much that I will share them here:
1. Complement the color palette:
The colors already being used in a room should be considered when selecting the color of tile. Particularly, the recommended tile needs to work within the existing palette of larger elements in a room such as walls, cabinetry and furniture. To create a high visual impact, consider contrasting floor and wall colors within the same color family (for instance, a light beige wall and dark chocolate floor.) However, rooms with an additional high contrast variable such as furniture may be better served with matching floor and wall colors.
2. Select a tile size that fits the room
Certain rooms lend themselves to specific tile sizes. A good rule of thumb is to mirror the room's size with your tile. Large rooms typically use large tile since smaller tile tends to get lost. Similarly, large tile can overwhelm a small room making it appear even smaller so consider mosaic tiles for a unique design for tighter spaces.
3. Consider shade variation
Shade variation refers to the difference in color within an individual tile and between multiple tiles.
So, with these tips in hand, I think I'm set. Or maybe I'm not, what with all the beautiful options out there.
