With a steep roof pitch, overhangs, and lateral appearance of the windows, the designers updated the ranch style to a contemporary Napa influence. The stone is a concrete masonry veneer over polystyrene panels that offers R-13.5 insulation.
The remodel added only about 600 sq. ft., mostly for a new master suite and updated the character of the Florida block house. Gutting the interior space allowed for improved traffic flow for a modern lifestyle and more than double the energy efficiency.
Designers kept the placement of the fireplace flanked by windows as an architectural characteristic of the house both inside and outside. New insulation and low-e glass windows provide greater energy efficiency in style.
The formal dining room is a flex room that can also be used as a parlor. Some of the furniture from Stanley was Greenguard-certified to be low in VOCs and chemicals for better indoor air quality.
