Tour the Lumenhaus, winner of the Europe Solar Decathlon
Designed according to the concept of responsive architecture, Lumenhaus responds to climate changes like weather and user requirements by utilizing an iPhone interface. The winning home was built on the Virginia Tech Blacksburg campus and shipped to Madrid, Spain, for the competition. Judges believe Lumenhaus is entirely ready for commercialization. They particularly liked the modular ability of the home – which allows homeowners to easily expand the home as families grow, and then to break it down again as family moves out.
