In 2008, the Great River Energy headquarters became the first building in Minnesota to be awarded Platinum LEED certification. LEED recognizes performance in six key areas of human and environmental health:
- Sustainable sites
- Water efficiency
- Energy and atmosphere
- Materials and resources
- Indoor environmental quality
- Innovation in design
This white paper includes a point-by-point summary describing how each LEED credit was achieved, as well as the reasons why certain credits were not achieved nor pursued.
