Budget-friendly home remodeling (Slideshow)
When a home starts to feel a bit unlivable, it's time to think about remodeling. As architect and author Duo Dickinson points out in his new book, Staying Put — Remodel Your House to Get the Home You Want, you can remodel to find your dream home.
Dickinson shows practical ways of reworking a house in order to make it more livable and better suited to changing lifestyles in this book, the seventh he's written on residential design.
"I think you could make a strong case that what is truly green is often what costs the least," Dickinson said.
A slideshow of images, including some remarkable before and after photos, is available on ProudGreenHome.
