Florida Solar Energy Center: Creating a bright future for Florida

In 1975, the Florida legislature created the Florida Solar Energy Center to test and certify solar hot water systems before they were installed on consumer’s roofs. Eventually, FSEC extended its efforts into researching and developing energy efficient homes and training.

Today, its current mission is to test and certify solar equipment, research, educate and train. In this educational video, Jim Fenton, the group’s director, takes us through the benefits of solar power in language that explains the benefits in simple terms that everyone can understand.

This video provides an excellent look into how solar power can help to reduce energy bills and examines the benefits of zero energy homes. Click here to view the full video.
