A panel of six judges selected Ply Gem Roofing’s Engineered Cedar Shake s Architectural Record’s 2016 Product of the Year in the Facades category.
Ply Gem, a manufacturer of building products, is proud to announce its Engineered Cedar Shake roofing product has been selected as Architectural Record’s 2016 Product of the Year in the Facades category. The panel six judges, representing the nation’s leading architectural firms, chose Ply Gem Roofing’s Engineered Cedar Shake as one the best new products of the year from among hundreds of entries submitted for the publication’s 11th annual competition. Entries were judged on the criteria of functionality, innovation, aesthetics and purposefulness.

Ply Gem Roofing Engineered Cedar Shake, which launched in early 2016, is a superior new product in the composite roofing category. Manufactured through a proprietary polymer mineral formulation using recycled resins, the material’s solid-core composition is tested to withstand moisture, insects, fire, hail and wind loads of up to 150 mph.
The rustic texture of Ply Gem Roofing Engineered Cedar Shake — available in Weathered Gray and Weathered Brown color blends — is virtually indistinguishable from natural wood, as it was designed from hand-selected, milled cedar shakes.
