ProudGreenHome's most-read stories of 2012

The top articles on ProudGreenHome in 2012 included features on how to generate electricity at home, the HGTV Green Home moving south to Serenbe, and a product review on the new Wolf convection steam oven.

Other popular articles included a story on why your electric bill is so high, new appliances finishes replacing stainless steel, and Carrier launching a new energy-efficient heat pump.

Another HGTV Green Home story garnered attention, and two different stories on alternative styles of homes were popular: Micro home uses reclaimed barnwood siding and Going green in a log home.

Among blogs the trend of interesting home styles continued, with Building a rustic home with cordwood construction the most-read blog for 2012. Another blog on insulated concrete form (ICF) was of interest, as well as solar water heaters, a blog on a living wall, and 5 Things to ask when shopping for a geothermal contractor.

One of the most popular videos of the year was on the Active House being built in St. Louis, and another on Sharp's solar division, taken during the Solar Power International convention in September in Orlando.
