Serenbe Farms adding new crops (Video)

Serenbe Farms is a certified organic farm on 8 acres in the midst of Serenbe, a sustainable community in Chattahoochee Hills, Ga., and it's adding to its already vast selection of crops.

More than 350 varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown on just under 4 acres, and some of the most popular crops last summer included gingerroot, heirloom tomatoes, lettuces, broccoli and sweet potatoes, according to Paige Witherington, farm manager.

This year, three acres will be added to the farm, including a pick-your-own flower patch and small fruits such as blackberries, figs and muscadines. There will also be a self-guided farm tour for visitors.

The farm sells to local restaurants and is distributed through the Serenbe farmer's market and a 110-member Community Supported Agriculture program that provides weekly boxes of produce to participants.
