High performance homes have become a larger part of the market in the past few years. But is the residential market place under going a long-term paradigm shift or simply experiencing a fad?

As the housing market continues to recover researchers predict, green building will grow to between 29 percent and 38 percent of new U.S. homes by 2016. Many green builders look forward to the day when there's no such distinction.

At Greenbuild 2013 in Philadelphia, Gary Wollenhaupt, editorial director of, talked to leaders from some of the key companies involved in the green building movement. We asked them what they thought was the future of green building in the next 5 to 15 years. Here are their answers.
