Cary, N.C. – Ply Gem Windows, a leading manufacturer of window and door products, is showcasing its energy efficient, aluminum-clad Mira Premium Series windows in the Proud Green Home in Georgia’s Serenbe community.

Designed for energy consumption to be net zero – meaning it will produce as much energy as the residents will use – the model home, sponsored by green building information website, celebrated its grand opening Friday, Aug. 16 and Saturday, Aug 17.

Featuring the latest building science and highly energy efficient products and technology, the Proud Green Home was designed by architect Chris Laumer-Giddens and constructed by home builder Luis Imery. It is part of one of the only EarthCraft communities in the southeastern United States.

The Proud Green Home will be open as a model home for 18 months to inspire and educate homeowners about sustainable living and building science, before being sold for residential occupancy.
