Large sliding door now moves at the touch of a switch (video)

Large sliding doors are finding their way into more residential and commercial projects as people want a greater connection with the outdoors.

Marvin Windows and Doors' Ultimate Multi-Slide door has been one of the products that has risen to meet that demand. Now it's available with Sliding Door Automatic Control (SDAC).

SDAC answers the need for large doors that can be opened and closed from a distance. Homeowners can choose to operate the door from a wall switch or via remote control. The automatic control is available on all four Ultimate Multi-Slide Door configuration options: bi-parting pocket, bi-parting stacked, uni-directional pocket, and uni-directional stacked.

This automated option comes on Ultimate Multi-Slide Doors in extremely large sizes: up to 47’ wide and 11’ high in the bi-parting configuration and up to 39’ wide and 11’ high in the uni-directional configuration.

The SDAC Ultimate Multi-Slide Door option is factory prepped for easy installation by a building professional at the job site. The SDAC runs on a 100V motor system and has a battery-powered wireless motion sensor for safety. To coordinate with décor, the interior wall switch option is available in white, ivory, almond or black.

Especially popular in contemporary design, Marvin’s Ultimate Multi-Slide Door is as smooth to operate as it is dramatic. Narrow stiles and rails, a flush sill that meets ADA threshold criteria and a multi-point lock for extra security mean that the Ultimate Multi-Slide Door is as beautiful as it is functional. And it is the only door on the market today that can meet a 0.28 U-factor with IG dual pane glass, an industry-leading energy efficiency standard.

“Homeowners are looking for beautifully-designed, expansive doors as well as the convenience that automation offers,” said Christine Marvin, Director of Marketing at Marvin Windows and Doors. “They desire an easy way to open up a home to the outdoors. This solution marries the classic craftsmanship of our Ultimate Multi-Slide Door with cutting-edge automation technology.”
