It can be hard for homeowners -- and even building professionals -- to determine the best HVAC choices for a home.
Now ModHVAC, a new online service from Modernize, connects homeowners with contractors specializing in energy-efficient home improvement projects. The easy-to-use tool gives homeowners instant cost estimates for the most optimal central heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems based on the size and location of their homes.
By entering a home's square footage and ZIP code, ModHVAC automatically calculates the accurate HVAC unit size it needs to operate efficiently, taking into account climate data and average local labor rates. This information, along with the homeowner's desired energy savings based on an HVAC unit's seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) rating, allows ModHVAC to also provide a cost estimate for purchasing a new or replacing an existing HVAC unit. Homeowners can then save their estimate or request to be connected with a reputable HVAC contractor in their area.

This digital tool leverages HVAC materials and labor data from Modernize's expansive contractor partner network. In 2015, Modernize generated more than 1.2 billion dollars in revenue for contractors via completed residential remodeling projects.
