Green remodel earns EarthCraft Platinum

The 3 bed, 3 bathroom split level in an Atlanta neighborhood underwent a renovation to achieve EarthCraft Platinum certification. Read more about the deep green remodeling project here.

<p>This split level home built in 1963 was remodeled down to the interior framing where spray foam insulation was applied to ensure a tight building envelope.</p>

<p>The kitchen features recycled glass countertops and Energy Star rated appliances.</p>

WaterSense fixtures from Kohler and Delta help reduce water usage inside the home.

Daylighting illuminates the room, lowering the use of lights. Energy Star certified lighting and fixtures were used throughout the home.

Recycled marble countertops were among the green features of the home, along with WaterSense certified fixtures.

Walls were rearranged to modernize the living space, and low-VOC paints were used for indoor air quality.

Daylighting techniques admit light but help block heat from the upper floor of the home, and tubular daylight devices deliver light into the interior spaces.

Low-VOC paints and cabinets and salvaged wood floors were a part of the green remodeling strategy.
