Annual award by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Recognizes Commitment to Energy Efficiency
(Huntington Beach, CA – March 1, 2010) – For the second year in a row, Bosch Home Appliances has been named the ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year for Appliances by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The award recognizes Bosch for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing water- and energy-efficient appliances and helping to educate consumers about the ENERGY STAR program.“Today, EPA is recognizing Bosch for taking the lead in addressing climate change through their commitment to energy efficiency,” said Gina McCarthy, EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation. “Bosch is producing and promoting products that have earned the ENERGY STAR, showing customers that together, we can increase our nation’s energy efficiency and reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases.”
Last year alone Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved $17 billion on their energy bills and reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of 30 million vehicles.
“Environmental responsibility is woven into the DNA of the Bosch brand – from green manufacturing practices to efficient appliance performance. Winning ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for Appliances two years in a row is a particularly meaningful honor for us,” said John Farley, senior brand and environmental marketing manager, Bosch home appliances. “Thanks to the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP), energy efficient appliances will be in the spotlight this year. Together with ENERGY STAR, Bosch can empower appliance shoppers to make educated decisions that help the environment and reduce utility costs.”
