Engineered slate tiles deliver long life and sustainability
Enviroshake products are composite roofing products designed to authentically replicate the look of a natural weathered cedar shake and shingles and slate.
At the 2016 International Builders' Show, Ashley Smith, director of marketing and sales for EnviroShake, talked about the company's range of engineered products.
Smith said that predominantly all of the materials (95%) used in the products are reclaimed materials. The Enviroshake composite blend is a mixture of post-industrial plastic(s), recycled elastomers and cellulosic fibre materials. The proprietary formulation and manufacturing process results in products that have enhanced durability, longevity, and performance. Enviroshake® products are not susceptible to mold, mildew, fungus, rot or insect infestation. They are also hail resistant and can withstand severe weather conditions and temperature fluctuations and extremes. Enviroshake® products can be installed efficiently with less waste than traditional cedar, do not require any pretreatment, and once installed are maintenance free. There are no added expenses for preservatives or coatings that are recommended with wood and other products.
