High performance sheathing solves air sealing challenges
In this video, builder Sy Safi of UberGreen Spaces & Homes talks about the ZIP System sheathing from Huber Engineered Woods that's going on the high performance home at Norton Commons in Louisville.
Known as Su Verde (Italian for ‘About Green’), the deep green project was designed by architect Clive Pohl of Lexington, Kentucky-based Pohl Rosa Pohl, and constructed by Louisville’s Sy Safi of UberGreen Spaces & Homes.
It will seek to be certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, the National Association of Home Builders Green Building Standard, the Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready program, LEED Platinum and Passive House. Proud Green Homes are high-performance, media showcase homes designed to increase comfort, health, and durability.
Safi talks about some of that advantages for the builder that homeowners won't notice, but will be a part of the high quality of construction that the owners will appreciate over the life of the home.
