Smart phone HVAC control puts homeowners in charge of comfort
Homeowners can control their comfort with a smart thermostat app and designated Mitsubishi HVAC equipment.
At the 2016 International Builders' Show, Charles Miltiades, senior product manager - controls at Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating, reviewed the kumo cloud controller app.
It's a programmable remote control app that works with the Mitsubishi Electric Wi-Fi Interface to allow consumers to control their indoor units from anywhere. Through the user interface on a smartphone, tablet or computer, a homeowner can control an entire Diamond Comfort System.
The kumo cloud controller app works with the latest Mitsubishi Electric M- and P-Series indoor units. A Wi-Fi Interface is required for each indoor unit. The setup requires Internet access, as well as access to a home wireless-router with a WPS button or network administration, Miltiadies said.
The app is available for iOS, Android or Fire OS enabled devices with the latest software.
kumo cloud controller app provides remote access to the system in three easy steps – plug in, setup and download app. The interface has the capability to: Control multiple locations and indoor units
- Program cooling and heating events
- Indicate filter replacement
- Monitor errors in the system
