Identifying Cost-Effective Residential Energy Efficiency Opportunities for the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative
An updated analysis of the 2005 Energy Efficiency Potential Study completed by KEMA for the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC), which identifies potential energy efficiency opportunities in the residential sector on Kauai. KIUC is specifically focusing on the following programs to make this work:
- Water heating
- Pool pump and motor
There is potential energy efficiency savings that could be cost-effectively incentivized through a utility residential demand-side management program on Kauai if implemented in such a way that the program costs per measure are consistent with the current residential program costs.
